§ 19-5.1. Requirements for Undergrounding.

  • a.

    All new electric service to buildings with a main size of four hundred (400) amps and above shall be underground and comply with any and all rules and regulations of the Bureau of Electricity.

    b.

    Service shall mean the customer/owner conduit and wire between the meter location and the service point designated by the Bureau of Electricity.

    c.

    All appurtenant facilities incidental to such electric service shall be underground except transformers, sectionalizing devices, meter cabinets, concealed ducts, foundations and pullbox or vault access covers.

    d.

    The building owner shall provide necessary substructures (conduits, ducts, cables, foundations, pullboxes, vaults, etc.), easements, and access easements as required by the Bureau of Electricity. Transformer and/or sectionalizing device locations shall be approved by both the Bureau of Electricity and the Planning Department.
