§ 24-2.1. Rooms Used for the Preparation of Food.

    It shall be unlawful for any person to cook or prepare food, through the use of hot plates or otherwise, or to permit the cooking or preparation of food through the use of hot plates, or otherwise, in any bath, shower, slop-sink or toilet room, or in any other portion of any building in which, in the judgement of the City Manager or his/her designee, the cooking or preparation of food is detrimental to the health of the occupants or the proper sanitation of the building.

    b.

    It shall be unlawful for any person to cook or prepare food, through the use of a hot plate or otherwise, or to permit the cooking or preparation of food through the use of a hot plate or otherwise in a hotel, except in a kitchen or other room designed for that purpose. As used in this section, "hotel" has the same meaning as defined in Section 15020 of the California Health and Safety Code, except that it may contain less than six (6) guests rooms, and it may be occupied or intended or designed for occupancy by less than six (6) guests.
