§ 8-28.6. Forfeiture for Noncompliance with Order.

Every person or railroad company failing, neglecting or refusing to erect or otherwise provide such a shelter, shed or other suitable structure within thirty (30) days after the receipt of the order and resolution from the City Council, shall forfeit to the City of Alameda the sum of one hundred ($100.00) dollars for each and every day such failure or neglect shall continue and until such shed or structure has been erected or provided, such forfeiture to be recoverable in a civil action instituted by the City of Alameda. For the purpose of this section each and every day's failure or neglect to comply with the order and resolution after the same has become effective, shall be deemed a separate and distinct offense and be punishable as such.
